Dr Ronald Eyime was born on Sunday 1st January 1956 in Utagba ogbe, Kwale in Ndokwa West Local Government of Delta State. He attended the CMS Primary School, Kwale and Mater Dei Grammar School in Ashaka, Delta State,He obtained a Bachelor of Science Hons degree in Optometry with a Second Class Upper Division from the University of Benin, and also a Doctor of Optometry (O.D) from the same University.

Dr. Eyime holds the fellowship of the Nigerian College of Optometrists (F.N.C.O) in Public Health/Community Optometry. He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Optometric Association (F.N.O.A).

On completion of his NYSC at the Lagos General Hospital, he was appointed Managing Director/Consultant Optometrist Rodway Ophthalmic. He later moved on to Tripod Ophthalmic Limited from where he was appointed Registrar/Chief Executive of the Optometric and Dispensing opticians Board of Nigeria.

At various times, he was Chairman E-zed Mortgage Finance Ltd and Ronzy Nigeria Ltd. Dr. Eyime as a young professional graduate single handedly led his colleagues in the political struggle which led to the promulgation of decree 34 of 1989, the Optometry Legislation establishing the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board of Nigeria.

HAS ALSO BEEN INVOLVED IN COMMUNITY SERVICE
Dr. Eyime has been involved in politics right from his University days. His political involvements span through students, professional, cultural and party politics. His professional political involvements pushed him through various elective positions up to the World level.

POLITICAL INVOLVEMENTS
Dr. Eyime contested and won elections into such positions as:
* President of Nigerian Optometric Association (N.O.A) President of African Council of Optometry (AFCO)
* Governing board member of the Worid Council of Optometry (W.C.O)
* Executive member of the International Optometric and optical League (IOOL). to mention but a few. He was appointed Commissioner for Science and Technology in Delta State, Nigeria; a post which he held from 2007 to 2009.

HIS CULTURAL AND PARTY POLITICAL INVOLVEMENTS INCLUDE:
Member of University of Benin Students Congress 1979 -1981 Chairman, Common Facilities Committee (Welfare Secretary) University of Benin 1981 1982. Member, Anioma Leaders Forum – a body that brought together the different interest groups in Delta North Senatorial District of Delta State. Chairman Delta Renaissance – a political body that encourages quality leadership in Delta State.

Active Member of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State since inception. Member movement for the creation of Anioma State Member, Committee for the articulation of Anioma interest at the National political Reform Conference.Member Delta state Hospital Management Board.
